TTC's Peace of Mind Promise
THINK BOUTIQUE: SMALLER SHIPS, FEWER GUESTS
Our boutique river cruise ships are much smaller and more intimate than your typical ocean cruise ship. With an average capacity of just 120 guests and many public spaces onboard, there’s plenty of room to relax while staying physically distant. The small size and high crew-to-guest ratios of our ships mean they are thoroughly cleaned regularly and often. Plus, travelling by river means you are always close to land, allowing for immediate access to shoreside resources.
Taking your Cruise
EMBARKATION REQUIREMENTS
More than ever before, it’s essential that we take personal responsibility to help protect each other, and the people and places we visit. To help achieve this goal, all guests travelling with Uniworld through 31 December 2022 are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. In 2023, it will be the responsibility of each individual guest to follow the entry requirements of the countries visited during their travels—by river, land or rail.
For the latest information on COVID-19 related travel requirements and protocols, please view our COVID-19 FAQs.
ONBOARD PROTOCOLS
We've added new measures to elevate our hygiene standards for every facet of the onboard experience—from the introduction of new air filtration systems to hand sanitizer stations throughout the ship. Additionally, all guests and crew will be required to have their temperatures taken when they board their ship, and routinely throughout the cruise, using touchless technology. Our extensive list of health & hygiene protocols can be viewed here.
A WELL-TRAINED TEAM
Our Hotel Managers, Cruise Managers and crew have all been trained by an external consultant in professional health, enhanced hygiene and physical distancing procedures. During your trip, they will operate with a duty of care and monitor the hygiene etiquette of our guests, reacting and advising as needed, to ensure high standards are maintained.
WE FOLLOW THE EXPERTS
As members of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), we have been actively involved in helping to define global protocols and are kept up to date with all government advisories and travel alerts on a daily basis. Our protocols will be adapted and adjusted as needed, in a timely manner, as local governments and the World Health Organization (WHO) define and implement what is required in each country.
TRUSTED PARTNERS ONSHORE
We are very selective in who we work with and choose to only use local guides, buses, drivers, restaurants and venues that take the health and well-being of our guests as seriously as we do. Our well-established and rigorous cleaning regimes for our buses and vox boxes have been enhanced and we will continue to only work with establishments that we are confident will consistently adhere to our standards.
WE'RE IN THIS TOGETHER
We are all in this together so we kindly ask that you do your part by being well informed before you travel about our new protocols, and that you cooperate with and heed the advice and direction of our crew while on your cruise. You can read our full list of onboard protocols here.
Personal Responsibility and COVID-19
We have introduced enhanced hygiene protocols—for you, our other guests and our team members. More information can be found at uniworld.com/covid-faq.
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to various government agencies, senior citizens and people with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.
Uniworld requires all guests to follow the entry requirements specified by each country visited along the entirety of their trip (river cruise, land stay and/or rail), which may include COVID-19 vaccination, booster shots, and/or a negative COVID-19 test from a recognized lab.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you always comply with these requirements. No refunds will be given if you are unable to undertake some or all of your trip (river cruise, land stay and/or rail) due to your failure to comply with these requirements.
Should you become ill while travelling with Uniworld you will be responsible for any costs associated with your illness such as medical care, quarantine accommodations, changes to airfare, and other travel expenses. Please ensure that your travel insurance covers these expenses, along with the cost of any missed portions of your trip, as they are your responsibility.
We ask that you please take personal responsibility for your well-being. This begins with packing any personal protective equipment and sanitisers you require.
In choosing to travel with Uniworld, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. Full details of hygiene protocols can be found at uniworld.com/covid-faq.
Let’s help keep each other safe and healthy.
